James (1999) Short Drama - USA. James, a wheelchair bound man, stifled and burdened by his captivity, overcomes his anger, by allowing himself to feel. In a home project, one which until now he has never been entrusted with, the focal point for self-discovery and locked away hurt becomes sublime. A discovery of what is most important prevails. In this story, through material destruction, function is found and freedom is permitted to be the spiritual and ultimate victor overcoming self betrayal. Existentialist work inspired by Camus, Mann, and Kafka.
